1966 During this year, an organization was created. It was called the "NOW" a.k.a. the National Organization for Women. The NOW wanted equal rights for women. They wanted for women everywhere to be treated with the respect they deserve. They want for women to take a stand and say what they have to say. 1967 The NOW in this year gained 1,000 women. They still aren't treated fairly. They continue to work for equality and fairness for all American women. They will fight to the end for American women everywhere in the US. They are persistent and will fight the government for equality for women. 1968 This is a sad tragedy for all black people everywhere in the US. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel. He fought for the equality of blacks everywhere in the US. He cared for blacks and now that he is gone, who will lead them to freedom. It's a sad and terrible event to happen. 1969
During this year, two historic events happened and here's one of them. On July 20,Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin Jr. land on the moon. Neil becomes the first man to land on the moon. Only because Buzz didn't set foot on the moon until after Neil. But still, America was the first to reach the moon. America won the space race. 1969 On October 15, there was a Moratorium to End the War in Vietnam. The people at the Moratorium wanted peace for Vietnam. They did everything to honor the dead. They wore black like what people wear going to funerals. Hopefully, the war would end soon. But no one knew for sure. 1970 The membership of NOW during this year reach 15,000. They still fought for equality for they still have not got it yet. They will do everything in their power to get that equality. America is free but not for women. How long will it be for women to have equality? For I say, "Let Freedom Ring For Women Everywhere In The United States of America".
